A History of A-1
A-1 Smartphone & Tablet Repair was formed in 2014 by Chris McDonald and Amanda Garling out of an idea to provide excellent customer service and reliable repairs at an affordable price. Both Chris and Amanda come from families that have worked in the communications field. Chris' father owned A-1 Answering and Paging Company, where Chris helped out beginning at the age of 8. Amanda's father worked for Southwestern Bell as a lineman for 20+ years. As well, Chris' uncle worked for Southwestern Bell. Amanda's grandmother and grandmother's sister were both switchboard operators, too. She also had an uncle that worked at AT&T. Chris and Amanda joke they must have been born to work in telecommunications.
Over the years, we have grown from operating out of a small room in our house to now operating out of a 2000+ sq ft facility. In addition, we have expanded from only working on iPhones to now being "Your One Stop Electronic Repair Shop."
A-1 is on Williams Dr. in Georgetown, the fastest-growing county in Texas. We participate in many fundraisers around our community and support the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.
A-1 has been Voted Silver/Gold/Silver in 2021/2020/2019 Best Of Georgetown Computer Repair. Voted Gold/Silver in 2020/2021 Hill Country News Best of The Best in Phone/Computer Repair. Voted Gold in the 2021 Austin American Statesman Best of the Best.

In 2014, he approached Amanda about opening a phone repair business that has expanded into your 1 stop shop for electronic repairs. Today Chris has continued to expand his knowledge of electronics and has trained a skilled team; The A-1 Team!
